COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two investigations are underway after a suspect was shot by a police officer during a foot chase Tuesday afternoon.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were dispatched at 4:22 p.m. to a gas station at 3377 E. Livingston Ave. following a report of shots fired.
As officers arrived on scene they reportedly witnessed a male, who they believed to be the suspect involved in the shots fired call, flee from the area on foot.
Officials said as officers chased the man, Officer Grady Kissee, a three-year veteran with the division, discharged his firearm, striking the suspect in the lower body.
According to police, the incident resulted in 18-year-old Jaylon Fisher being taken into custody. Officers on scene rendered aid until medical personnel arrived. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Fisher was transported to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition. No injuries were suffered by police personnel.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting by CPD.
Columbus Police homicide detectives are conducting the investigation into the original shots-fired call.
