OHIO — The finalists for the FedEx Ground Player of the Year award have been announced with running backs in Ohio claiming two of the three nominations.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon and Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb were nominated for the fan-vote based award with Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.

The three backs are the top three leaders in rushing yards in the NFL. Taylor led the league with 1,811 yards, followed by Chubb with 1,259 and Mixon with 1,205.

Taylor also led the league with 18 rushing touchdowns, while Mixon was fourth with 13 and Chubb finished in a five-way tie for 10th place with eight touchdowns.

Of the three players’ teams, Mixon and the Bengals are the only to make the playoffs, as Cleveland was eliminated in Week 17 as Cincinnati clinched the AFC North and the Colts were eliminated in Week 18 with a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

All three have won the weekly edition of the award.

Taylor was voted the winner in Weeks 6, 10, 13, 15; Mixon won the award in for Weeks 1, 11 and 12; and Chubb won the award in Week 9.

FedEx will announce the 2021 FedEx Air and Ground NFL Players of the Year winners at the NFL Honors presented by Invisalign on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 9-11 p.m.
