CANTON, Ohio — The new United States Football League (USFL) announced Wednesday plans to hold its semifinals and final in Canton this summer.

What You Need To Know

  • Canton’s Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium will host the USFL semifinals and final this summer
  • The eight-team league launches this summer with each club playing 10 regular season games
  • The league will be in its first season and does not have a legal connection to the previous iteration of the USFL

The league, which has the same name as the popular 80s league that produced the likes of Doug Flutie, Jim Kelly and Reggie White, does not have a legal connection to its predecessor. Although it’s a new league, games will be aired nationally on Fox and NBC.

The games will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.

“We are honored that the state-of-the-art Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium was selected as the destination for the USFL’s 2022 postseason,” said Mike Levy, president of operations for Hall of Fame Village. “Our facility and campus will provide the perfect setting and backdrop for the USFL’s inaugural playoffs and championship, offering fans and guests visiting our destination multiple opportunities to be engaged at the birthplace of professional football.”

The semifinal games will be played the weekend of June 25 with the final being held July 3. Tickets have not been released.
