“My aunt and uncle started this Oktoberfest as well as Covington and were very instrumental in Cincinnati,” David Noll said.

Noll and other family members worked in shifts to make sure different kinds of German food were served up at Newport’s Oktoberfest.

“Our super brats, smoked mettwurst, curry wurst, Goetta balls, French fries, Oktoberfest pretzels, cream puffs cherry strudel, limburger and onions,” Noll said.

On top of food people could enjoy drinks, live music and entertainment. The Newport Oktoberfest took place Friday Sept. 23 to Sunday Sept. 25. Ludwig Noll said his family played an important role in Newport Oktoberfest and in other areas celebrating Oktoberfest each year for decades. He loves getting together with his family each year to serve up German food to Cincinnati and northern Kentucky areas. For him, that’s what Oktoberfest is all about.

“For us it’s tradition, it’s heritage and it’s a time for my family to come together,” Ludwig Noll said.

David Noll said the family’s gotten to know organizers and others over the years and it’s just a great way to bring people together. “A good time, good food, good drinks — “kommilikeid” if you will, which is general togetherness — happiness and just community and getting together and sharing themselves,” he said.
