“I think it’s very important for people to remember that there are veterans or people that served in the military that never made it home,” said VFW Riders president Greg Findura. “It helps to remember those people… without them, quite honestly, I don’t believe the United States would be around.”

The VFW Riders and Northfield VFW Post 6768 are organizing the event. Findura said there’s an important new addition this year that builds upon the commitment to serve the community: A trailer will available to accept donated supplies for the Emergency Assistance Center.

The Emergency Assistance Center is a food pantry located in Northfield which aims to help those who qualify for food assistance.

“There will be people who will be moving along throughout the crowd as a trailer goes through the parade collecting your goods for the Emergency Assistance Fund,” Findura said.

Canned goods and toiletry donations will be accepted for families in need who reside in the community.  The full list of needed supplies can be found at teacenter.org.
