OAKWOOD VILLAGE, Ohio — The Oakwood Village plant explosion that occurred Feb. 21, is still under investigation. The Division of the State Fire Marshal interviewed several witnesses and does not believe it was the result of a criminal act, according to the Ohio Department of Commerce.
The fire originated in the interior of the building around a specific furnace.
Investigators plan to speak with furnace experts in the mechanical and electrical fields to help determine the exact cause.
Also contributing to the investigation are several state and local bureaus, agencies and departments.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office plans to assist the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Bureau and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) during the interview process.
