COLUMBUS, Ohio — Cincinnati, now No. 3, has its best ranking ever and Ohio State moved up to No. 6 in The Associated Press college football poll released Sunday.

The Big Ten dominates the back half of the top 10 with Ohio State at No. 6, Penn State at No. 7, Michigan at eighth and Michigan State 10th. The Big Ten has five top-10 teams for the first time in the history of the AP poll, which dates to 1936.

Ohio State moved up from No. 7 to No. 6 after the Buckeyes steamrolled Maryland 66-17 on Saturday.

C.J. Stroud threw five touchdowns passes and the Buckeyes (5-1, 3-0 Big Ten) had their way with Terps. The freshman quarterback was 24 for 33 for 406 yards and threw two touchdown passes each to star wideouts Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson against a depleted Maryland secondary before taking a seat after three quarters.

Cincinnati moved up from No. 5 to No. 3 after Desmond Ridder threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns as the Bearcats routed Temple 52-3 on Friday night for its 23rd straight home victory.

Georgia is the new No. 1 in AP poll by a unanimous vote, taking the top spot during the regular season for the first time since November 1982.

The Bulldogs received 62 first-place votes and moved up one spot in the AP Top 25, a day after preseason No. 1 Alabama lost at Texas A&M. The defending national champion Crimson Tide slipped four spots to No. 5 after its first loss of the season.

Alabama was one of two top-five teams to lose Saturday, opening the door for several teams to move up the poll.
