WOOSTER, Ohio — Kyle and Deanna Domer are packing up for their trip to Columbus for Saturday’s Ohio State Buckeyes game against Rutgers.

“That’s all I’m bringing,” Deanna said after tossing some Buckeyes gear in a small bag.

  • One family said Ohio State football keeps them together by attending football games as a family
  • The northeast Ohio couple said they use games as a reason to visit their sons in Columbus
  • One of their sons attends OSU, the other lives in Columbus

They’re about to visit their son Logan, who is a student at Ohio State. Their other son, Austin, works in Columbus, so they can see both of them in one trip.

The game gives them an excuse to go down there.

“It’s not like they’re close or anything, so we make a weekend of it,” Deanna said.

Since the boys left home, the couple has bought an RV. They’ve watched some Buckeyes games in it, but they would like to try and bring it down to Columbus for a game.

“Hopefully we can take it up there and tailgate with the Buckeyes and the family,” Kyle said. “It’s awesome.”

For the Domers, this isn’t just a game or Homecoming weekend. The couple said it’s what keeps the family together.

“It’s what it’s all about,” Deanna said. “You go out and have fun watching the game with them and going out afterwards.”
