OHIO — Attorney General Dave Yost announced Wednesday an Ohio man who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles has been indicted on two first-degree felonies.

Guernsey County Common Please Court grand jury indicted Joshua Matthew Sills, 25, on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping. According to the indictment from December 2019, “Sills engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will.”

It was immediately reported, according to Yost, and an investigation followed by the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office.

Sills has been issued a summons to appear on Feb. 16 at the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court. The case is being prosecuted by the Special Prosecutions Section of the Attorney General’s Office.

The Sarahsville man plays for the Eagles as an offensive guard. Indictments are criminal allegations, which means defendants are innocent until proven guilty in court.
