Police: Columbus school bus driver, aide charged with assault, child endangerment

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus City Schools bus driver and aide were charged with assaulting a child, the Columbus Division of Police confirmed. 

Bus aide Mona Smith and bus driver Nikita Pickett were charged in an assault incident. According to court records, the incident occured Nov. 12, 2021. 

Both Smith and Pickett are facing charges of assault and endangering children, according to court records. Court records said they will face arraignment Tuesday. 

Columbus City Schools has not responded to Spectrum News 1’s request for comment.
