Winter Storms Watches and Warnings are in effect ahead of a winter storm arriving late tonight into tomorrow. Starting this evening, rain will move into northwest Ohio and spread southeast.
After midnight, temperatures will fall and rain will turn to a wintry mix, then snow.
For Northwest/much of Northeast Ohio: heavy snow will be the biggest problem with this upcoming winter storm. Over a foot of snow is likely across NW Ohio and along the lakeshore counties NE. Some totals over 18″ will be possible between Wednesday and late Thursday.
The rest of the state will still see significant snow chances between Wednesday and Friday morning, but the bigger concern will be freezing rain and ice, with a large swath of Ohio picking up 0.5″. This will lead to power outages and dangerous travel conditions into early Friday morning.
