Report: 11 died on Ohios roadways this New Years

OHIO — The Ohio State Highway patrol said 11 people died in crashes over the New Year’s holiday. 

The report, which covers data from Friday, Dec. 30, at 12 a.m. until Monday, Jan. 2, at 11:59 p.m., said the 11 people died in nine crashes, with impairment being a factor in six of them. 

OSHP also took 214 impaired drivers off the roads, cited 67 people for distracted driving and 101 others for illegal drug violations.

The numbers are a slight decrease from last year, which reported 12 fatalies on Ohio’s roadways over the holiday period.
