STRUTHERS, Ohio — The Ohio Attorney General’s Office confirmed it has been asked to investigate an “officer-involved shooting” in the Youngstown area Friday evening that reportedly ended in the death of the suspect.
Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations’ Special Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Unit have responded, the AG’s office said.
Struthers Police confirmed its department was involved in the chase that ended in Youngstown. A spokesperson for the AG’s office said that the request for a review of the shooting came from the Youngstown Police Department.
The chase reportedly ended near Steel Street and Salt Springs Road in Youngstown.
