We don’t need to worry about ice or snow this holiday weekend because it will be too warm for anything other than rain.

What You Need To Know

  • Rain will be heaviest late Friday night into early Saturday
  • Skies will dry out west to east Saturday afternoon
  • Temperatures will be very mild and above average

While our Christmas weekend put some places in Ohio in the top ten for coldest Christmas days ever, our New Year’s weekend will be all about temperatures a good 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

Highs will be in the upper 40s and 50s.

Saturday’s highs will be a little cooler than Friday because of morning rain.

If your celebrations include being out at midnight, temperatures will likely only have dropped into the 40s!

The wettest part of the weekend will be early Saturday through early afternoon.

With snowmelt, rivers will rise but should be able to handle things without flooding but we’ll keep an eye on it.

It does look like for your evening plans, we will be drying out.

In other words, we get to ring in the New Year with mild temperatures and dry skies.

Sunday will be a mostly cloudy and mild first day of the new year!

We get to enjoy quiet weather through Monday afternoon before more rain comes in late Monday into Tuesday.

Tuesday will be rainy but our temperatures will be so mild they may tie or break some records for Jan. 3.
