We don’t need to worry about ice or snow this holiday weekend because it will be too warm for anything other than rain.

What You Need To Know

  • Scattered rain will begin early Friday
  • Rain looks fairly widespread especially early Saturday
  • Temperatures will be very mild and above average

While our Christmas weekend put some places in Ohio in the top ten for coldest Christmas days ever, our New Year’s weekend will be all about temperatures a good 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

Highs will be in the 40s and even middle 50s.

If your celebrations include being out at midnight, temperatures will likely only have dropped into the 40s!

We do have two storm systems that will bring us some rainy weather.

Showers will begin early Friday but should be fairly scattered.

If you are traveling or heading out early Saturday, roads will be wet with more widespread rain.

It does look like for your midnight plans, most of the state will see rain at the time, but western Ohio will start to dry out.

Some showers may linger early Sunday but most of the daytime on New Year’s day will be dry.

We get to enjoy quiet weather through Monday afternoon before more rain comes in late Monday into Tuesday.
