The last week of 2021 has been very wet and messy with most of the state still warmer than average.

What You Need To Know

  • Mild temperatures start the holiday weekend
  • Mostly dry through midnight on New Year’s Eve, but rain ramps up into early Saturday
  • Colder temperatures quickly change rain to snow by Sunday

Most of Friday is dry with plenty of clouds but conditions change after the ball drops at midnight.

Widespread rain develops into Saturday morning. If you have plans for the New Year’s Day, it will be wet with an area of low pressure continuing to move through the Buckeye State.

We have yet to see a big blast of colder air, but it is on the way Sunday and into early next week.

Rain changes to snow showers on Sunday, so get the winter coats and scarves out as the weather looks messy.

Temperatures will be above average for the entire weekend, so that is good news for travel.

We get a break from the rain Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.

Another storm system is on the way Sunday night through Monday with rain and snow showers.

Next week looks active and mild.
