CLEVELAND — Guests of all different ages got a chance to enjoy live music at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Saturday. Caleb and Rachel Hawkins are parents to their daughter Oakley and she is a big fan of music. Caleb explained he and his wife play all types of genres for Oakley.

“We play anything around her, I mean, obviously anything appropriate,” he said.

Oakley’s favorite song is “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire. Caleb said she has always liked it as well as other older tunes.

“Whenever we play older stuff she keeps requesting it and requesting it,” he said.

That’s why the couple took their daughter to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame’s family day on Saturday. It was a free event and there were crafts, bubbles, food trucks and the museum itself to explore. It was the Hawkins’ first time there and Caleb said it likely won’t be their last.

“It’s always fun to just get downtown when we can. I mean we don’t live downtown, so to take advantage of the city it’s nice,” he said.

It was fun for the family to be around other people that were showing their kids music, too. Rachel said being a part of the community is special.

“It’s good to be a part of the community. Things like this bring the community together, so I really appreciate that. And a good free event that kids can enjoy, so we definitely take advantage of that when we can,” she said.

This is just one of the events that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will put on this summer.
