FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said a deputy was involved in a shooting Tuesday evening.

Baldwin said in a press release that SWAT deputies conducted surveillance on an individual with an active felony arrest warrant for failure to register.

The individual, identified as Pozz Striblin, 19, was a person of interest in a double homicide that occurred on May 31 in Prairie Township, Baldwin said. While attempting to execute the arrest warrant at the Sunoco Gas Station at Stelzer and Agler roads, deputies aired an officer in trouble call and shots were fired.

Officials pronounced Striblin dead on the 7:19 p.m. Police said they recovered a weapon from him.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is handling the case.
