LOS ANGELES (CNS) — “Spider-Man: No Way Home” pulled off a rare feat by snatching the top box-office spot back from “Scream” in its sixth week of release, grossing $14.1 million this weekend, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The latest edition of the lucrative superhero franchise — which stars Tom Holland, Zendaya and Benedict Cumberbatch — has now grossed $721 million in North America. It owns the fourth-biggest domestic haul of any film, behind only “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($936 million), “Avengers: Endgame” ($858 million) and “Avatar” ($760 million). It is the sixth highest-grossing film in terms of worldwide box office.

The rebooted “Scream” entry finished close behind with $12.4 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, Comscore reported.

The animated film “Sing 2” was in third place with $5.7 million in its fifth week of release.

“Redeeming Love” opened with $3.7 million for fourth place, followed by “The King’s Man” with $1.77 million in its fifth week.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “The 355” ($1.6 million), “American Underdog” ($1.2 million), “The King’s Daughter” ($750,000) “West Side Story” ($698,000) and “Licorice Pizza” ($683,357).
