Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens 56th annual Ohio Mart artisan craft fair returns Oct. 5-8

AKRON, Ohio —The 56th annual Ohio Mart, Stan Hywet’s annual artisan craft fair, returns to the historic estate in early October, showcasing more than 120 exhibitors working in myriad mediums ranging from photography and ceramics to jewelry, textiles and garden art.

Ohio Mart runs Thursday, Oct. 5 through Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is located at 714 N. Portage Path in West Akron.

All tickets include self-guided tours of the Manor House, which will feature the Inspiration in Bloom exhibit comprising fresh floral displays.

Also featured is the 48th Stitchery Showcase presented by the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild. The showcase is a non-juried biennial needlework exhibit in the Manor House Reception Hall.

The guild also will host the Stitchers’ Fair, offering gently used stitching supplies. On Saturday and Sunday of Ohio Mart, children interested in stitchery can pick up a stitchery kit at the Stitchers’ Fair.

Attendees interested in vintage goods can visit the Vintage Finds and Curious Goods shop, which will offer unusual and collectable items, while the Craft Shop will feature handmade goods.

Stan Hywet’s Garden Committee will also offer dried flower arrangements for sale, all created using flowers from Stan Hywet’s Great Garden.

The Food Court will offer a variety of vendors offering an array of lunchtime fare, from grilled cheese and pierogies to barbeque and Greek cuisine. The Tudor Rose Pub will offer beer and wine.

Baked goods from area bakeries will be available in the Bakery Tent and the Gingerbread Tent will offer Stan Hywet’s hot gingerbread cookies, which are considered an Ohio Mart tradition.

Parking is available on the property in the Great Meadow for $5, cash only.

Free off-site parking with free shuttles will be available Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9. Off-site parking locations will be listed on the Stan Hywet website.
