PAINESVILLE, Ohio — An organization dedicated to supporting individuals who are living without shelter received a big gift Thursday.

Amazon donated $15,000 to Sub Zero Mission in honor of Veteran’s Day and the Marine Corps 247th birthday.

The money will help Sub Zero Mission, located in Painesville, Ohio, purchase hats, coats, gloves, boots, sleeping bags, socks, tents and other items to help unhoused residents stay warm during the winter months.

Amazon’s military affinity group, Warriors @ Amazon, visited from the company’s North Randall and Euclid Fulfillment Centers in northeast Ohio to present the check to Sub Zero Mission at a special event Thursday afternoon.

Sub Zero Mission’s warming item drive runs from Oct. 1 through Dec. 15.
