CINCINNATI — Court adjourned early Friday for the federal corruption trial for former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and former GOP Chair Matt Borges. Three witnesses took the stand to testify.

A former state representative, a former state representative candidate and a contractor for Householder’s former home in Florida were the three to testify on Friday.

The first to take the stand was former State Representative Kyle Koehler, who testified about how he was against HB6 and how Householder tried to convince him to vote for it.

Next was former state representative candidate Nicholas Ryan Owens; who testified about receiving negative mailers about him from the Growth and Opportunity PAC, which was funded by “Generation Now,” the dark money group linked to the scandal.

Steven Myli, Householder’s contractor for his former home in Florida, also testified. He shared details about the work he did on the home after it was damaged in Hurricane Irma. He said his point of contact was former lobbyist Jeffrey Longstreth because he and Householder were business partners.

Householder and Borges have both pleaded not-guilty to the racketeering conspiracy charges. Testimony will continue on Monday.
