Tropical Storm Bret has formed in the central Atlantic Ocean, becoming the second named storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season.
Bret is moving west at 21 mph with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It is forecast to move west across the Atlantic Ocean over the next few days and strengthen into a hurricane by the middle of this week.
It could approach the Lesser Antilles and move into the Caribbean Sea by the end of this week, but there is still uncertainty in the track.
Along with Tropical Storm Bret, there is another area being monitored for development in the eastern Atlantic.
