Tropical Storm Bret pulling away from the Lesser Antilles

Tropical Storm Bret formed in the central Atlantic Ocean on June 19, becoming the second named storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season. 


What You Need To Know

  • Bret formed in the Atlantic on Monday, June 19
  • It’s will remain a tropical storm as it moves west
  • It will continue to bring rain and wind to Windward Islands on Friday

Bret continues to maintain its tropical storm status but has weakened, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.

Bret is expected to remain a tropical storm as it moves west, further into the Caribbean Sea.

It will continue to produce rain and gusty winds across the Windward Islands, but that should subside through Friday.

Most Tropical Storm Warnings have been canceled except across St. Vincent.

Strong wind shear and a dry atmosphere will help weaken Bret as it heads further west.
