LOS ANGELES (CNS) — “Uncharted” is on course for a big President’s Day weekend, opening with $44.1 million Friday through Sunday to lead all films in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The adventure film — based on a video game and starring Tom Holland of “Spider-Man” fame and Mark Wahlberg — beat out another movie making its debut, “Dog.” That film, starring and co-directed by Channing Tatum, is about a war veteran and the Belgian Shepherd who helps him adjust after a traumatic brain injury. It grossed $15.1 million this weekend, Comscore reported.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” continued its historic run, raking in another $7.2 million for third place and bringing its 10-week domestic total to over $770 million, third all-time.

Last weekend’s top-grossing film, “Death on the Nile,” was fourth with $6.2 million in its second week in theaters.

“Jackass Forever” was fifth with $5.2 million in its third week.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Marry Me” ($3.6 million), “Sing 2” ($2.8 million), “Scream” ($1.9 million), “Blacklight” ($1.77 million) and “The Cursed” ($1.72 million).
