CINCINNATI — United Airlines announced Monday it’s adding a nonstop flight from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) to Kansas City for the AFC Championship on Sunday.

CVG said the flight will depart from Cincinnati at 1 p.m. Saturday and arrive in Kansas City at 1:50 p.m. Then the flight will depart from Kansas City at 7:45 a.m. Monday and arrive in Cincinnati at 10:14 a.m.

It’s the Bengals’ second consecutive time going to the AFC Championship, and if they beat the Chiefs on Sunday, the team could be in the Super Bowl for the second time in a row as well.

The Bengals defeated Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs 27-24 to advance to last year’s Super Bowl, which they lost to the Los Angeles Rams. Cincinnati has won the past three meetings against Kansas City, including a 27-24 victory last month. The Chiefs are making their fifth straight appearance in the AFC championship game following a 27-20 win over Jacksonville on Saturday.
