KENTUCKY — President Joe Biden on Wednesday visited the Commonwealth to survey damage and offer support for victims of the devastating tornadoes that killed dozens and left thousands more in the region without heat, water or electricity.

During his last stop of the day in Dawson Springs, Biden said he approved a measure that will allow for 100% of tornado-related costs to be paid for. He stressed that the federal government will do “everything it can” to get Kentucky back on its feet.

More than 30 tornadoes tore through Kentucky and four other states over the weekend. The storms killed at least 88 people and demolished homes, downed power lines and cut off residents from key utilities as temperatures dropped below freezing in Kentucky earlier this week.
