We are very warm and muggy to start, and temperatures only go up from here, at least until a late day cold front moves through.
That front will encounter enough to kick-start some showers and storms this afternoon, with rain more likely south of I-70. A few storms are still possible north.
The most likely timeframe for storms today will be from around 2pm to 9pm, with a quieter and eventually cooler forecast.
Lows drop back into the 50s and 60s tonight, but temperatures quickly heat back up and we see highs bak in the 90s Friday.
