COLUMBUS, Ohio – One person is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in east Columbus.
The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of South Ashburton Road near James Road and south of East Broad Street.
Police said the victim was hit in the parking lot of an apartment building located at Dale Avenue and South Ashburton Road.

The victim was taken to Ohio State East Hospital.
Police said the driver fled the scene.
They are searching for a 2008 blue Kia van with front end damage on the left side.
