What You Need To Know

  • The 43rd Ohio RV and Boat Show in Columbus runs through Sunday
  • It has nearly 300,000 square feet of inventory spanning three buildings this year
  • Boating enthusiasts share their experience at the event

Nearly 300,000 square feet of boats and RVs, spanning across three buildings at the Ohio Expo Center, catch the eyes of boating and travel enthusiasts near and far.

Among the patrons are Holly High and her husband Eric.

“We’re just really water people,” said Holly, a boating enthusiast.

Holly and Eric have been boat owners for the last four years, but are on the hunt for their dream boat.

“Eventually, we have a couple years when we retire,” said Holly. “So, maybe when we retire, we’ll upgrade it.”

The couple grew up boating, especially her husband Eric.

“My husband, his parents went to Florida all the time, and growing up in high school, they got a place on Buckeye Lake, and they had boats then,” said Holly. “We used to go skiing all the time. He’s always been around the water. I just love the water.”

Holly and Eric have their eyes set on one already, but between the 30 fishing boats and 80 regular ones, along with the 200 RVs and other outdoor inventory, there’s a wide selection.

This year, the show is bigger than ever, giving people like the Highs more boating adventures to think about.

“Whatever we do we’ll probably end up on the water somewhere because that’s what we love,” said Holly. “That’s all I can say at this point. We’ve got a number of years before we can retire. We both know we love the water, and that’s where we are the happiest.”
