The paintings became popular that she started selling them on her Facebook page. Ohliger donated $200 to the Our F.A.M.I.L.Y charity that helps local youths.

“I just decided that I am going to make this into a business, and once I got enough, I was like, ‘Hey we should donate half of the profits to an organization,” said Ohliger.

The 9 year old says she did her homework and found a charity to donate her profits.

“She decided to donate to our organization, our family fathers and mothers involved in local youth, so she chose my organization to donate her pictures, so I am very happy. The painting is beautiful, and she donated it to me” said Emma Jean Taylor, the executive director of Our F.A.M.I.L.Y.

It stands for Fathers and Mothers Involved in Local Youth. The organization helps the community through various programs like taking students on field trips.

Christina Pavella, Sophia’s mother, says she couldn’t be prouder of her daughter.

“With the pandemic, being stuck at home, this gave us some great bonding time to connect and do something, and it’s been her aspirations to wanna use the profits for wanting to sell this towards an organization, and I think absolutely inspiring”.

Sophia says her paintings are not about making money but making a difference.

“I think the more we give to people and stuff, the more the world will be happier and be a better world.”
