Dozens of people came out to the Amtrak train station to show their support for the former vice president.
The sounds of bells and cheers from supporters welcomed Biden to the train station.
Jason Buitrago said he thinks Biden chose the perfect city to start his tour.
“Oh, I am so excited. The heart of America flows right through Ohio, and he is starting it here and I love it,”said Buitrago.
Biden’s “Build Back Better Express” train tour also made a stop in Alliance, Ohio.
Buitrago, said when he found out Biden would be in Cleveland, he wanted to find a way to show his support.
“I jumped at the chance to celebrate this monumental kick off, really, to the true debate season,” he said. “Now that we are less than five weeks away, I wanted to be here to celebrate and to cheer on the future of democracy quite frankly.”
Even though the crowd of supporters wasn’t close enough to hear Biden speak in person, many of them live streamed the speech he made before getting on the train.
Matthew Wright was standing by and cheering for Biden from a distance.
“I feel even more convinced that this is the right choice for our country. The current occupant at the White House is as he proved last night, quite honestly, unfit for the job,” Wright said.
Biden’s train tour also scheduled stops in several cities in Pennsylvania.
