Anderson students recognized as Week 2 Scholar Athletes

CINCINNATI — Two student athletes from Anderson High School were recognized for their achievements and named Week 2 Scholar Athletes for southwest Ohio.

Kate Rothfuss is a three-sport athlete involved in tennis, swimming and lacrosse.

When not on the court, in the pool or on the field, Rothfuss is involved in numerous clubs, including Student Athletic Leadership Club, Link Crew, Robotics Club and is a member of the Spanish and National Honors societies.

Outside the classroom, Rothfuss is active in the community having amassed more than 350 hours of service while 4.36 grade point average.

Nick Gundrum is a two-sport athlete in cross country and swimming.

When not leading in his athletics, Gundrum is a leader in the Anderson theater department and in multiple clubs, including the Student Athletic Leadership Club, Link Crew, Drama Club, Diversity Club and the Spanish and National Honors societies. Gundrum has twice won the most outstanding social studies student and won the Mary Struke Award as the school’s most outstanding junior. He has earned a 4.42 GPA and scored a 35 on his ACT and a 1510 on his SAT.
