CLEVELAND — With the NFL reducing the number of preseason games by one per team, the Browns will host just one exhibition before the 2021 season.

The Browns will host the New York Giants on Sunday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. The home game is sandwiched between two road preseason games.

The Browns will open the preseason schedule at Jacksonville on Aug. 14. The preseason concludes Aug. 29 at Atlanta. The contest at Atlanta will be televised nationally in primetime on NBC.

The NFL reduced the size of the preseason in order to stretch the regular season to 17 games. With the expanded schedule, the Browns will have nine home games in 2021.

The 2021 regular season starts Sept. 12 at Kansas City. The Browns’ home opener is Sept. 19 against Houston.

In 2022, the Browns will host two preseason exhibitions and eight regular season games.

The 2020 NFL preseason was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
