CINCINNATI — After delaying its opening last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Coney Island Park will reopen Memorial Day weekend on May 29 as scheduled.
Families will be able to enjoy familiar favorites as well as new attractions, like the Challenge Zone and Action Alley.
The Challenge Zone features more than 150 feet of obstacles, monkey bars, balance beans and the largest pool obstacle course in the nation, according to park officials. Action Alley will have a large infatable jump pad, arts and crafts, and a giant basketball Connect 4 game.
“We can’t wait to share these new and unique attractions and our popular favorites with loyal guests and brand new fans,” said Rob Schutter, the president of Coney Island.
Last year, the park had to delay its opening to later in the summer instead of its planned reopening date, also on May 29, 2020. The state implemented the “Stay Safe Ohio” order, which encouraging residents to stay up and travel if necessary. Coney Island decided to await reopening guidelines. The park said it will honor season passes from last year.
According to the park’s guidelines, guests must remain 6 feet away from each other at all times. The park hasn’t determined a mask policy yet and will go off of what the state’s madates around the time it opens. You can read the full guidelines here.
Coney Island Park is the lastest Ohio attraction to announce its reopening. Kings Island opens this Saturday and expects a full summer after only operating for 65 days last year. The park will also honor 2020 season passes. Cedar Point will open Friday.
