COLUMBUS, Ohio — Longboarding is a hobby and a form of transportation for Ohio State student Josh Turner. He’s the president of the campus skating club.

“I’ve been doing this probably 11 years, 12 years — something like that,” he said.
Turner sayid he picked up skateboarding as a way to get outside. He really enjoys that he can grow at his own pace.
“At the university, there is a club for like everything and it was like just an area where I could like socialize with people that did what I like to do and I mean, that was pretty much enough for me to come every week. Like, I’ve never missed a beat with this whole thing,” he said.
Even with classes, homework and exams he says he never misses a meeting because it’s his favorite part of the week.

“There’s really no shortcuts around it. You do just have to practice, practice, practice,” he said.
