Hamilton and Wicked set to return to Columbus next year after pandemic delay

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Broadway musicals “Wicked” and “Hamilton” are set to return to Columbus next year, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts announced Tuesday. 

“Wicked” will run from May 18 to June 5, 2022 at the Ohio Theatre. The show was set to take place in April 2020, but organizers had to cancel citing COVID-19 concerns. 

“Hamilton” will no longer be the season opener, but instead it will be the finale. Due to routing changes, the show will run from Oct. 4-23 also at the Ohio Theatre. Subscribers will automatically have their tickets moved to the new dates. 

The 2021-22 PNC Broadway show in Columbus kicks off with “Hadestown” in November. Here is the full schedule:

  • Hadestown: Nov 21, 2021 at the Ohio Theatre
  • Fiddler on the Roof: Dec. 14 through 19, 2021 at the Palace Theatre
  • CATS: Jan. 11 through 16, 2022 at the Ohio Theatre
  • Come From Away: Feb. 8 through 13, 2022 at the Ohio Theatre
  • Pretty Woman: The Musical: March 29 through April 3, 2022 at the Ohio Theatre
  • Hamilton: Oct. 4 through 23, 2022 at the Ohio Theatre

Optional season add-ons include:

  • Beautiful: The Carole King Musical: March 11 and 12, 2022 at the Palace Theatre
  • Wicked: May 18 through June 5, 2022 at the Ohio Theatre
