Extreme heat and humidity is the big weather story today but we are also watching a round of severe storms moving into northern Ohio before sunrise this morning.

Let’s talk heat first. We are looking at air temperatures in the lower to middle 90s with dew points in the middle 70s. Heat index values could get as high as 104 degrees.

High temperatures could reach 96 degrees in Cincinnati. The last time it was 96 degrees there was July 4, 2018. We had some middle 90s this past June.

The early morning round of storms moving into northwest Ohio by 6 a.m. and moving east through the rest of the morning could bring in a another round of severe weather with damaging winds and torrential rainfall.

There will be a bit of a break from the stormy weather midday (heat will rise quickly at this time) then more showers and storms are possible tonight into Friday.
