Two months have passed since Russia invaded Ukraine. Russian forces have withdrawn from the capital region of Ukraine to refocus on the eastern part of the country, but the images of what was left behind in their wake have sparked global outrage.

The U.N. human rights office says it has documented more than 3,200 civilian deaths in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to the U.N., more than 5.2 million people have fled Ukraine, the greatest refugee crisis since World War II. Overall death tolls in the conflict are unclear.

As Russia continues all-out offensive in the eastern part of Ukraine, President Joe Biden announced $800 million in new military aid to help Ukrainian forces repel the assault, and asked Congress to authorize an additional $33 billion in further assistance.
