The Cleveland Cavs were among the teams getting a new City Edition uniform. The uniform pays tribute to Cavs teams of the past, including the one that won the 2016 NBA title.

The Cavs’ jersey logo is of the swashbuckling swordsman, which the club used in its early days in the 70s.

The Cavs’ City Edition shorts feature a pair of logos. On one leg is the logo from the Cavs’ playoff runs of the 80s and 90s. The other leg has the logo that the Cavs used during the team’s run to a 2016 NBA title.

“The 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition uniforms use both time and place as inspirations, highlighting some of the unforgettable moments across each franchise, from expansions to player performances to club titles,” Nike said in a news release. “The result: a threaded fingerprint of team heritage, balanced out by details from different eras.”
