A weak upper-level disturbance has been producing scattered showers and even a few rumbles of thunder across parts of northern and eastern Ohio through late afternoon.

Showers will taper off after dark with clouds thinning out for much of the state. Another weak upper-level system will cross southern Ohio late Sunday night through early Monday morning, but only a brief increase in cloud cover is expected with this system.
Clouds will be moving out early Monday with Sunshine returning to the Buckeye state by midday through the afternoon. It will be seasonably mild with highs reaching into the lower to middle 60s.
Enjoy the warmth, because a significant cold front will start to push into the state on Tuesday into Tuesday night. Clouds will increase with showers developing across northeastern Ohio Tuesday with showers likely Tuesday night.
As unseasonably cold air filters in Tuesday night into early Wednesday, the rain is expected to mix with or even change to snow. Some snow accumulation will be possible across mainly northern and northwestern Ohio Tuesday night into Wednesday. Most of the snow will be on grassy or elevated areas and should not cause any travel problems.
The wintry mix will change back to rain showers Wednesday afternoon before ending, with temperatures struggling to get back into the 40s Wednesday. As clouds move out, a widespread frost or freeze is expected statewide by early Thursday morning.
Temperatures will recover into the 50s as sunshine returns Thursday for most areas, although northeastern Ohio will still see rain and snow showers mixed coming off of Lake Erie. Another frost will be likely by early Friday morning.
