OHIO — After upsetting the No. 4-seed Virigina Cavaliers Saturday, the No. 13-seed Ohio University Bobcats will take on No. 5-seed Creighton Monday night.

Virginia, the 2019 NCAA champions, fell to the Bobcats 62-58. Creighton sneaked past UC Santa Barbara Saturday, 63-62. Both teams are hoping to land a spot in the Sweet 16.

OU moved past the second round in 2012, but before that, it had been 50 years. Creighton hopes to clinch its first Sweet 16 appearance. The last time Creighton moved past the first round was in 2014.

In 2012, OU defeated Michigan in the first round and Florida in the second round, but then lost to North Carolina. Overall, OU has played in the NCAA Tournament 14 times, which is the second most out of all the teams in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

Creighton has had 20 appearances in the NCAA Tournament. They last played in 2018, where they lost in the first round to Kansas. The Blue Jays are rated second among the Big East teams with an average of 76.5 points each game.

Despite the differences in history, this matchup is a strong one. The Bluejays are 14-0 when they hold opposing teams to 68 points or fewer and 7-8 when opponents exceed 68 points. The Bobcats are 15-0 when they hold opponents to 75 points or fewer and 2-7 when opponents exceed 75 points.

The games starts at 6:10 p.m. Monday at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
