PICKERINGTON, Ohio — A community pool is closed until further notice, citing staffing shortages.

The city of Pickerington posted on its Facebook page saying the pool will only be open to season pass holders in the meantime.

“This change was necessitated by staffing challenges in combination with the safety of our employees and patrons. We are continuing to evaluate the situation and will update with any new information as it becomes available,” the city wrote.

Other areas in Ohio have had similar challenges. Cedar Point had to close a few days in June due to staffing shortages, and Kings Island cut back hours last month as well. Both parks increased their pay for workers in an attempt to attract more employees.
