His contribution for this year’s Prints and Pints, event on Saturday started as a sketch in his notebook and ended as a tribute to Homestead Beer Company of Heath.

“I tried to take some elements from the actually processing and making that beer and putting it into the poster. So the hops kind of cutting across here for the IPA elements. The wheat going across here kind of representing those wheat-based elements as well. And I believe one of the stout beers was called Tenpenny and that has that figure right in here,” said Weigman.

Weigman is one of 12 Ohio-based artists creating posters for 12 breweries in and around Columbus in the fourth annual Prints and Pints event, which is sponsored by his employer Upright Press.

“We can kinda all prop each other up with our people that are coming into the venue and checking out the work. And I think that’s something that’s really important because it kind of exposes their work to that new audience,” said Weigman.

Overall, he’s dedicated almost 15 hours between creating and printing his artwork.

And the final seal of approval, Weigman’s signature, a definite collector’s item for patrons of Homestead Beer Company.

“Especially now with social media and everything, it’s really kind of cool, sometimes people tag and post you in there and you’ll be like, ‘oh cool,’ that’s in their basement or like in their living room or something like that. So you can actually physically see where it ended up,” said Weigman.
