COLUMBUS, Ohio — The OHSAA Game of the Week broadcasts rolls on with Division I playoff action Friday night.

No. 5 St. Ignatius vs No. 4 Euclid

In Northeast Ohio, No. 5 St. Ignatius (2-3) is in search of its 12th state championship, and first since 2011.

The Wildcats visit No. 4 Euclid (5-2) in Region 1. St. Ignatius was a 21-6 winner in the last match-up between the schools in 2018, and are coming off a playoff win against Solon, the 360th in Coach Chuck Kyle’s illustrious career. With a win Friday, Euclid would advance to its first regional semifinal since 2015.

No. 3 Westerville Central vs No. 11 Upper Arlington

The second round of the playoffs features a rematch of a competitive regular season Week 1 showdown.

On Friday, No. 3 Westerville Central (6-1) hosts No. 11 Upper Arlington (3-4) in Central Ohio’s Region 3. Westerville Central opened the regular season against the Golden Bears, and the Warhawks won the contest, 28-23.

Friday night is the second opportunity in in the playoffs for Upper Arlington to get revenge for a regular-season loss. In the first round of the playoffs, UA defeated No. 6 Olentangy Orange, 17-10 after the Golden Bears lost to Orange in Week 4, 31-14.

Westerville Central should be well rested following a bye week created when Central Crossing had to cancel the first-round playoff matchup.

Westerville Central is trying to make its presence felt in the central region as much of the focus is on the Pickerington schools. The Warhawks’ only loss was to Pickerington North in Week 2, 34-20.

No. 7 Elder vs No. 2 Princeton

Southwest Ohio features a marquee matchup between a team that fell just shy of a title in 2019 and a team making postseason waves for the first time in nearly two decades.

Elder (4-3) will travel to take on Princeton (6-1) in the second round.

Elder emerged from Region 4 in 2019, dropping a heartbreaker to Pickerington Central in the Division I State Championship Game and is looking for another deep playoff run.

Princeton’s 6-1 record includes its first win against Colerain since 1997, and with a 55-0 blanking of Oak Hills in round 1, the Vikings earned their first playoff win since 2001.

Elder is quarterbacked by junior Drew Ramsey, son of head coach Doug Ramsey, and the younger brother of Northwestern signal caller Peyton Ramsey.
