Widespread rain from overnight continues into our Thursday. Thursday will be a very wet day so grab the umbrella and the raingear!

What You Need To Know

  • Rounds of storms last through Thursday
  • Heavy rain is likely across the state
  • Severe storms are possible with gusty winds, hail and localized flooding

Thursday morning, widespread rain is likely with pockets of heavy rainfall. Give yourself that extra time during your morning drive because roads will be wet. Steady rain is expected for the first half of the day throughout the state until early this afternoon.

Scattered showers and storms develop after lunchtime and some severe weather is possible, especially in mid and southern Ohio. There’s a Marginal and Slight Risk of severe weather for these areas.

Areas along I-71 from Cincinnati through Columbus, then east and southeast Ohio, will have the best chance for severe storms starting early afternoon through dinner time.

Our main concerns will be damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and heavy rain, which could cause localized flooding. Remember: turn around, don’t drown and take an different route if there is water on the roadway.

Scattered showers and storms push into southeast Ohio this evening and taper off overnight.

Statewide, we could pick up another 1-2 inches of rain by Friday morning.

Friday is much cooler with highs in the 50s and lower 60s with a breezy northwest wind, so the spring wind-breaker isn’t a bad idea, especially in northern Ohio. At least skies dry out Friday and we’ll stay mainly dry for the weekend!

Friday night, temperatures drop back into the mid to upper 30s with clear skies and patchy frost is possible Saturday morning.

Enjoy the dry weekend because looking ahead into next week, we have more wet weather on the way Monday through Wednesday.

Turn around, don’t drown

Localized flooding will be possible through Thursday and into Thursday night. Take it easy on the roads and remember not to drive through any water on the roads and take an alternative route.
