Even though it is August, our temperatures this week are way above normal.
Heat is the main weather story with temperatures at times this week in the middle 90s.
Heat index values will be in the middle and upper 90s today but closer to 100 degrees Tuesday through Thursday.
Each afternoon there will be the chance for some isolated pop-ups storms. But we are most like to see storms Wednesday through the weekend.
Storms on Wednesday afternoon could briefly become severe with damaging winds as the main threat.
There is not a huge break from heat but it won’t be as hot this weekend.
