The storm threat has diminished for our Friday, and we’ll enjoy sunny skies by this afternoon.

What You Need To Know

  • Expect morning fog, especially in northern and western Ohio
  • Temperatures will heat up for the weekend
  • Isolated storms will be possible through the weekend

As a cold front passed yesterday, temperatures cooled off slightly overnight dropping into the upper 60s to low 70s. Watch for some areas of patchy fog until 9-10 AM this morning, otherwise morning clouds are expected to clear by this afternoon.

Today won’t be as humid as yesterday, but it will still be a very warm day with temperatures reaching the mid 80s to near 90. Skies remain clear overnight with temperatures dropping back near 70 degrees.

An area of high pressure is in control over the weekend so storm chances are isolated. This, coupled with a southerly wind, will make our highs become hotter.

By Saturday most of the state is flirting near 90 to topping off in the mid 90s further south. Our heat index values will push into the upper 90s, maybe even feeling closer 100 degrees.

Saturday afternoon, a pop up storm is possible, but chances remain low.

If you have any outdoor plans, conditions look doable. Just be prepared for a hot day by limiting your time outdoors and drinking plenty of water.

For Sunday, another round of isolated storms develops after 1-2 p.m. and chances linger into the evening hours until fading off after sundown. Highs will again be back into the 90s, and heat index values will be pushing upper 90s to near 100 degrees.

As we head into next week’s forecast, our pattern remains hot and humid with more widespread shower and storm chances.
