The heat, humidity fire up storms into tonight

Saturday starts with a few lingering showers and possible storms before noon in northern Ohio. Elsewhere, it’s fairly dry, but fog and haze will be possible once again with muggy temperatures through the morning.

With the haze and rising temperatures, we have Air Quality Alerts in effect for SW Ohio, mainly around the Cincinnati metro where air pollution will be very high through today and into tonight.

Into our Saturday afternoon, pop-up storms develop mainly north of I-70 and become more numerous through the evening and overnight hours. Some isolated severe storms are possible with a marginal risk in place for northern Ohio late today into tonight.

Storms could produce wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail and downpours, especially tonight.
