CINCINNATI — Vice President Kamala Harris will make her first visit to the Buckeye State on Friday since being sworn into office. The visit comes two days after President Joe Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress.

The White House said Monday that Harris will visit Cincinnati. Exact details of her visit are forthcoming. Presidential and vice presidential visits generally require road closures, which could exacerbate traffic issues that the Cincinnati area has experienced in recent days due to lane restrictions on the Brent Spence Bridge.

Harris, Biden and other White House officials are embarking on promoting the president’s proposed $2 trillion infrastructure plan following the president’s address. The president along with first lady Jill Biden will trek to Georgia on Thursday to promote the infrastructure proposal.

Biden’s infrastructure plan has not been well received among Republicans, who have called on a smaller spending package. Democrats are considering using the budget reconciliation process, which would allow for the bill to pass through the Senate with a simple majority.
